These are highly adjustable and versatile but couldn’t get it to work for me. My jeep was too high to safely put my kayak on myself.

Have used Thule products exclusively in the past. These cradles are very high quality and far, far cheaper than Thule products. These are made of welded, anodized aluminum frames with rubber/urethane flexible pads, with no structural parts made of plastic. Have used them for many hundreds of road miles, with zero failures of any kind. Highly recommended.

Not my first attempt to find kayak saddles that would fit onto the Honda CRV crossbars, but the only one that DID fit. The saddles have a rubberized part that sits between the saddle and the top of the bar. This does not want to slip along the bar, keeping the kayak right where you want it, Even with the hold downs all loosened, it holds on, but will move when you push it, a good feature. It's set into the top clamp instead of just laying on the top of the bar, so it is held firmly with the top clamp The bottom of the clamp is coated so it doesn't want to slip either. The tighten down knobs are big enough to be able to easily use, but not so big as to get in the way of the tie down straps. The straps themselves have a piece of material at the buckle that protects the car surface from being scratched by the buckle.The saddles themselves where they support the kayak are also rubber and flex to the shape of the kayak. My kayak is wider in the middle than in the front and I could position each saddle to give maximum distributed support. With J-bars you don't have that option as my friends show me, but they use the J-bars so they can put two kayaks on their vehicle. I have just the one.I had planned on using a J-bar rack for the kayak. With a J-bar you need to pick the entire kayak up, over your head and put it down on the J-bars. With the saddles you can leave the back end on the ground and lift the front end up onto the CRV. A hint I found online is to get a small rubberised rug and put it on the vehicle and then put the front of the kayak onto the rug. This protects the vehicle but more importantly you can more easily slide the kayak onto the saddles . This makes it an easy one person job to get the kayak on or off the vehicle.The goods came packaged like a mummy, very protected.

I've got a 10' 11" kayak and it fits perfect on this rack for my 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Very easy to install and I'm able to load/unload by myself.

Decent price for sturdy brackets. They fit my rectangle tube Thule rack with no issue. The bolts are long but if you flip them around they don’t get in the way at all.However - I found a weak point. My kayaks are easily less than the rated weight limit. The breakage occurred when I was loading them up during their first use. Not a big deal cuz the feet still held their shape.Overall it’s easy *** maybe ****. Like I said the brackets are super sturdy, the welds look great, and I can easily fix the pin that came out.Side note, I’m not trying to complain with this review - just be aware you may need to DIY a small repair.

Once aligned to the boat, fits snugly. Pivots just enough when loading and unloading . Am happy with product and the minimal hardware on top of my truck cap.

supoorted 65 pound fish kayak on test drive. Hope the pivot pin rivets hold up under stress. Wish the rivet ends looked a little stronger. Otherwise, happy. Finally found something reasonable that fit 2017 Hyundai cross bars.

the concept is easy enough and looked promising. Sadly the straps it came with are way to short to tie a ride-115x down, which is also not really sitting comfortably in it and seems rather wobbly. Installation is easy and can easily be figured out, but the directions are a joke and not really that helpful. Parts are cheaply made.update: Nov 26It works but it's such a pain and needs constant adjustments. Which add about 10-15m to the loading process.

Worked great. Held kayak well for 20 hours of driving on variety of high speed roads. Carefully used additional ratchets for extra safety to main roof rack incase these failed but they held up the kayak well with no damage what so ever.

J'ai mi 3 étoiles parce qu'un boulon sur les 8 nécessaires était manquant. J'ai dû refaire une commande de 20 boulons sur internet (pas capable den avoir juste un !) pour me servir des supports.Pour le reste, le produit est impeccable !Solide et très bien conçu.
