This reverse tap doesn't work at all. It was too big to put in the bore without cutting threads. When trying it on my second sparkplug hole the tool warped and could have ruined it further. Higher quality tools might be worth it, but avoid this one.

THIS ITEM IS A PIECE OF JUNK!!! It is not a solid piece. The part that goes into the spark plug hole TWISTED OUT OF SHAPE on the first attempt and the cutting threads became impossible to use so i'm still stuck with a cheap good for nothing tool that does not work! buyers (PLEASE BE WARE)! I could have lost a very good engine behind this problem.

This thing works ok for some LIGHT thread chasing. I managed to bend all 4 prongs because there’s no good way to clear the chips out on the way up. Nearly ruined my threads. I would recommend using a regular tap.I used this on my 2008 ford ranger, in aluminum, and it didn’t get the job done. Just get a normal M14-1.25 tap and try and blow the chips out, this thing did more harm than good.

Was easy to use. Be careful not to force it. Stop if it sticks, back up and go forward again carefully. Make sure you load it up with grease before inserting in the plug hole to catch shavings. You don't have to expand all the way either on first pass through the threads. Paid for itself with one use. A couple minute fix. Very happy.

This back-tap broke as soon as I tried to use it. It snapped into two parts and crumbled. Now I will have to dismantle the head on my engine to hopefully remove the part that is lodged in it. Very cheep steel. My mechanic advised me to get one made with either American or German steel.
