Make sure the piston it out of the way , and check this with a screwdriver. It's hard work to tap cast iron do a little at a time. Use oil when tapping.Run the tap all the way through. I used JB weld to hold insert in place be sure to clean with alcohol , so the weld can properly adhere. Do not over tighten plug in the insert. Use longest insert possible. Use thread locker blue on plug , so it don't work it's way loose.

We bought these because the spark plugs shot out of my push mower. I was able to remove the head of the mower and replace the threads for the spark plug. This worked well. I did send it in with permanent Loctite. Seems to be working fine. just so your aware you have to be cautious when working a tap. I also had to re-drill the hole. A larger size of the tap would work.

Chinese crap!! Tap from kit didnt match the thread count on the provided thin cheezy aluminum inserts. Threw in trash.Bought an American made name brand which will outlast me.

Sleeves are perfect !! Unfortunately the reamer slash rethreader isn’t so good the reamer portion is dull and I ended up haveing to drill head out first. I cannot complain for the price is good . All in all the job got done and my chain saw is working again .
