I began carving in May 2021. As I learned the craft in my retirement I began accumulating tools that would help me produce great wood carving pieces. I found this set on Amazon and so glad I did, all of the tools have provided me great value to improve my skills and carvings. One thing to note, learn how to sharpen this has made these tools even more valuable because I have kept them very sharp and highly recommend this product.

I carve a lot of 2 and 3 inch little people figures and detailing is a pain with my regular knives. This light duty set looks to be just what I need with a wide variety of blade shapes. The blades are very sharp, I always strop before use anyway, the handles are sized to hold with a pencil or full grip, shaped so they won't roll around the work top and the case is very well made. If they are SK5 steel as claimed they should sharpen well and hold a decent edge. Decent light duty set for a good price.

These are definitely not expensive, well made tools. They allowed my daughter to get the feel of the work but we will definitely be upgrading. One of the tips wasn't even sharpened correctly when they arrived and needed to be fixed before use. The metal also doesn't remain sharp very long at all. The carrying case is well made and the plastic safety covers for the chisels is appreciated.

I know the set is inexpensive however I did expect a better product than these. I wouldn't suggest buying for a beginner because I believe starting out with these tools can only cause frustrating for the newby.Outside of the case is nice, not sure how long the inside retaining elastic and mesh material will last .

These needed to be touched up on the edges to work well, but once I got them smoothed out they work great. Good price, fast shipping

The carving set works great. If you don't already have one, I'd recommend getting a cutting glove with your order as the tools are VERY sharp.I had made the purchase late so figured it would not arrive for Christmas. Even the 'expected deliver by' date range had the arrival time as after Christmas but it got there early and I was able to wrap it up and have it under the tree. Thank you!To return back to the glove suggestion, if you don't want to buy the glove (after buying the carving kit, the blocks of wood, a carving instruction book with designs, and all the other gifts I'd bought, I didn't purchase the glove either), you might want to invest in a first aid kit with an emphasis on butterfly bandaids, superglue, etc. We fortunately already had that but.... yeah..It is surprising... You'd think people would learn from others mistakes however three adults attempted carving, the first aid kit needs replenished, and that glove is on order now..

I like these chisels they’re small easy to use BUT it’s just too how do I say this……cheaply made. I mean don’t get me wrong I like it because it’s travel size but the metal on the chisels are just cheap and in all honesty they chip to easy. My suggestion do LIGHT carving instead of heavy duty cause they will chip if you put too much pressure on them.
