This pack of lag bolts is a great value. You get a lot of them in the bag. And they include the washers that fit the bolts which is nice. I use these to attach caster wheels to my homemade shop furniture in my woodworking shop. And they’re perfect for that. You will want to drill a pilot hole first though. So far they have worked out great.

These bolts are just okay. If you zoom in on the picture you can see that the coating is coming off of the head. This was after screwing it in once after pre-drilling a 5/32" pilot hole. I also took a sampling of about 10 bolts and noted that over half of them had some wobble, indicating that they were not perfectly straight. But, for the price they are okay.

When I need any kind of hardware, I usually don't just go out to a hardware store and get only the number of pieces that I need for the job at hand. I like to buy in larger quantities so the next time I need a particular fastener I don't have to run out and buy them again: I've already got them in stock in my own shop! Additionally, often when buying in quantity the price per piece is lower.That's the idea behind my ordering this 100-pack of 1/4" diameter X 1-1/2" length lag screws with washers included: right now I just need four of them for securing the lid on a well pump house that I built (using stainless steel cable to hold the lid open at the perfect angle). But since screws this size are commonly used by me, it made sense to get more than I needed. They are perfect for this particular job I need them for, since they have the nice black ceramic coating and the cable I will be using is a black stainless as well.I also like that these screws are manufactured by Makers Bolt, a company whose products I've purchased before and have always been pleased with their quality. According to the product ad, the black coating is twice as rust resistant as a galvanized coating. I'm looking forward to seeing first-hand how it holds up, since I live in a salt-water coastal area. Although the screws will not be used right near the water, the environment itself does manage to take its toll on steel fasteners. Galvanized ones usually do OK, though, so I'm hoping that the "Black Ruspert" coating will live up to the longevity claims. I would think that they most likely will, based on my past performance with the maker's products!
