We go through a lot of round soap stone at my work doing weld inspection. These are an economical alternative to going to the local welding supply store. However, we do have issue with a lot of the sticks in the box being slightly undersized causing them to not hold tight in our holders and slipping in when you try to write with them. I fixed this on my holder by wrapping a piece of paper around the stone where it meets the collar, but shouldn't have to do that...
