About this item

  • Durability - Crafted from M2AL High-Speed Steel (HRC 66) with thick walls, our annular cutter for hand drill is designed for wear resistance and superior performance. This top-tier HSS steel not only ensures long-lasting tool life but also maintains consistent performance across various job environments.
  • Efficiency - Our premium spot weld cutters offer 3x faster cutting speeds and a much longer lifespan than traditional twist drills or double-sided cutters. Rapid cutting and less frequent cutter changes enhances productivity ensuring a smoother workflow.
  • Precision - Our spot weld cutter kit is equipped with CNC-machined cutters with precise cutting diameters of 5/16”, 3/8", 7/16”, 1/2", 9/16”, 5/8, 3/4", each with with a 3/8” threaded shank, suitable for cutting depths up to 1/4”, ensuring you have the right size for most projects.
  • Burr-free Drilling - Our spot weld cutters with advanced cutting geometry produce smooth and burr-free holes, minimizing any deformation or distortion of the surrounding material, producing a higher-quality finish and reducing the need for post-processing, saving you time and resources.
  • Flexibility - Our spot weld cutter drill bits excel in diverse applications including automotive body work, electrical conduit installation, HVAC/PHCC and sheet metal fabrication. Compatible with handheld drills featuring 3/8” or 1/2” chucks, they offer precise and efficient cutting of sheet metal, plate materials, mild steel, stainless steel, and plastics.
  • Pack Contents - Sturdy case includes 7 cutters, 1 arbor, 2 pilot pins, 1 center punch, 1 small washer, 1 large washer, and 1 hex wrench, keeping your tools organized and easily accessible.
  • Caution - It is extremely important to position the cutter square against the workpiece; cutting at an angle may cause teeth to shear off. The use of plenty of lubricant also recommended to extend lifetime of cutters.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

STEP 1: WEAR PROPER SAFETY GEAR: Safety glasses, gloves, and protective clothing are essential.

STEP 2: PREPARE THE SURFACE: If the spot welds are rusty or pitted, sand the area down prior to cutting to ensure a level cutting surface

STEP 3: LUBRICATION: Lubricate cutter drill guide bore and cutter body.

STEP 4: SELECT THE CORRECT SPOT WELD CUTTER SIZE: Use one that matches the diameter of the spot welds.

STEP 5: MARK THE SPOT WELDS: Use a center punch to make a divot to ensure the bit does not walk.

STEP 6: ALIGN THE CUTTER: IMPORTANT Position it perpendicular to the surface of the workpiece. It is important to stay as square as possible throughout the operation. Cutting at even a small angle will cause the teeth to break.

STEP 7: APPLY STEADY PRESSURE AND START SLOWLY: Start slowly and apply consistent downward pressure on the cutter.

STEP 8: CUT THROUGH THE TOP LAYER: Allow the cutter's teeth to remove material around the spot weld.

STEP 9: CLEAN UP: Remove any burrs or sharp edges from the workpiece.

Run them slow, keep the cutting area lubed with a good cutting oil, works fantastic.

Worked perfectly I did use cutting fluid on all my cuts, but it did not have any trouble drilling out about 12 spot welds in about 3/16 steel very happy with it

The cutting tool works great when drilling out a weld, but when removing the cutting head is hard at times. Just wondering if the washer or spacer on the tool is to be set one way or the other way, would be nice to know in some instructions as to washer curve is up or curve down.

Just tried it on 1/4" thick ibeam using the 7/16 bit. A little bit of tap oil and it cut through with minimal effort. It is a challenge to remove the bit from the extension though.

This is a great item if you need to cut holes in metal and are tired of using drill bits. The holes are very clean if you take your time and use cutting oil. I used a Dewalt cordless drill and had great success. It comes in a nice compact case with directions on the case and it has a center punch and pilot pin. Not something I will use on a daily basis but for a small investment it's nice to know it's there when I need it and it takes up very little storage space. Very handy addition to my tool chest!
