I have really hard water and do not use a water softener, this has helped my hair SO much! Before having this filter it felt like there was residue left in my hair after washing it and it dried (without using any product) so this has been a huge help. It’s also easy to install and I replace the filter every 4ish months by a quick reorder on Amazon.

I have bought this same shower head before and loved it! Even put it in my guest bathroom and my guests commented on it and wanted to know about how to buy it? The trick is don’t install the water saver that comes with it. It’s what decreases your water pressure even more. Sometimes it comes already installed in the shower head and it’s not in the box as a separate piece. Read your manual and look at the diagram to be able to detect it so you can take it off. It’s either a small round screen with black rubber rim or a hard red plastic ball. Can pry it easily out with tweezers or mini screwdriver. Good shower head settings and filters water.

As should be expected with carbon type filter, the water comes out black the first couple times you turn on the head.Heads up or down, so you dont get a face full of black water.

I don't know too much about water filters, but from some brief research, this filters out most of the things I'm hoping to avoid in my shower water. I have scalp eczema and after using this, my scalp is far less irritated, and I have less hair loss. Would recommend!

Filters are fine, but unfortunately, when I went to replace the old one, it seems the o-rings no longer hold a good seal and the whole thing leaks all over the place. I tried to get some at Lowe's that seemed to be the same size but it did not work. In all fairness, I purchased the base unit about 2 1/2 years ago and have been happy with the product. So I guess I should not expect more than that from a piece of plastic. I hope these filters will fit on a competitors unit... which looks to be the same size because I'm reluctant to purchase the same brand.
