I bought this to have a backup for my basement sump pump when the power goes out for a coastal Maine home. The power frequently goes out for days at our second home during storms and we had an issue that the basement would flood because the sump pump had no power. I purchased a decent deep cycle battery at Walmart to pair with this and set up was a breeze. I tested the unit and it switched from AC to DC and back to AC by plugging in, unplugging, and plugging back in the sump power cord which connects directly to the unit. It worked well and the unit recharges the battery on a trickle after it switches back to AC. Worked great in a power outage shortly after I installed it. Highly recommend this for a similar set up.

I cannot get water in my basement without ruining a lot of my stuff, so I bought a Zoeller sump pump, this inverter and a Delco AGM battery. I was able to put it all together and replace my old unit that came with my new house in about 30 minutes. Was really quite easy and I was surprised. My plumber wanted $500 to install a sump pump which is a 15 minute job. The money I saved I installing it myself paid for the backup system. It connected up easily and worked perfectly. Tested it by u plugging from the wall outlet and the battery backup worked like a charm. I feel my safer now and have peace of mind. I would recommend doing what I did. This inverter looks to be excellent quality, has a nice LCD lighted information display on front and installs easily. Recommended!

My unit is the 1500w model. The inverter is easy to install. I tested the unit with 120VAC being supplied and with AC off (unplugged). It worked fine. Switchover from AC to battery backup was extremely quick.Now the issues. As others have stated, the owner's manual is useless. I have never seen a worse manual in all my days. Luckily, the inverter hookup is not that complicated. However, I did have an issue when I inserted a tester into the inverter's 120VAC output. It indicated a ground fault. After some time of checking things out, I noticed a small terminal with a ground symbol beneath it. Connecting the terminal to ground solved that issue. But once again, the manual never mentions this connection. The last thing is two plastic covers are provided for the battery connection lugs. But I cannot figure out have to install them. They would protect the battery terminals from accidental touching, if only I could figure out how to install them.

This has been installed for about 4 months now. It works just fine to power two sump pumps with one battery for about 10 hours at a 25% duty cycle. If I bought a second battery, I could probably get this to p;ower two sump pumps for about 20 hours at a 25% duty cycle.

Worked great for first few months but now does not switch over to battery when AC power goes out. Still charges battery, and works when plugged in to outlet, but will bot switch to battery. Tried finding/calling/emailing company, cant even find them? Amazon is taking back, minus restocking feeUPDATE: the company reached out to me and issued a full refund

Using this inverter / UPS battery backup for a basement sump pump. I hooked it up to a large 200ah deep cycle battery I picked up locally. It seems decently built, has a good heft to it, and only feels slightly warm when powered on.I pulled the power cord out a couple times and verified that it went over to battery power, which seemed to work.I did get this one as it seemed like a good value for the money. I'm impressed enough that I've considered getting a second one to provide power backed to other things like my home network gear.Note that this is compatible with with either LiPo or lead acid batteries, and there is a switch to select the battery type. Setting this correctly is important as it sets the amount of discharge allowed. For lead acid batteries they can only be safely discharged to 50%, whereas LiPo batteries can fully discharge. The switch makes sure that the inverter shuts off correctly to preserve the health of the battery.

Ça fonctionne super bien en back-up avec mes 2 batteries a décharge profonde(100amp). Idéal lors de panne électrique. Je peux utiliser mon poêle au au granules ( éviter d'avoir froid) et pour ma pompe submersible(éviter les dégâts d'eau au sous-sol).

Pour une pompe à puisard ( back up ) en cas de pannes de courant , je l’ai tester fonctionne très bien , la seule critique les fil sont un peut cours , j’en ait fait venir un set de 24 pouces , il devrait avoir des fil plus long 18 ou 24 pouces ,

J'ai commandé 2 appareils en même temps. L'un des deux est reçu endommagé. L'isolateur rouge de la borne de batterie est fendu. L'emballage est intacte. L'appareil fonctionne quand même mais il fait un 'clik-clik-clik...' électronique interne continuel. Je le retourne car j'ai payé pour 2 appareils fonctionnel et neuf.
