They are easy to use. The price is fine since they are washable and reusable. I will update my review on how well they pick up fine debris and keep my pool clean in a few weeks since I bought them a few days ago.

I added a small copper pipe in the filter basket and I use the liquid copper algae control in the pool and these filter balls are great. If the algae starts to grow in the pool, it will grow like crazy in these balls. If you have water bugs, you have algae

I wasted so much time and money and finally dumped the balls and got sand the balls had all my chemicals in them that never made it to the pool and within 24 hours of sand pool is clear. Waste of money junk.

This review is for the filter balls media. 1. I'm using these for a 250 gallon hot tub, not a pool. 2. I'm not using them as a replacement for sand in an commercial filter/pump unit. Now that those points are out of the way, I have a TuffSpa hot tub and don't care much for the filter because when I get in the hot tub I would encounter contaminants in the water even though the hot tub was on its preprogrammed filter cycle for the whole week. So, because I have an inexpensive submersible pump, I bought a two gallon bucket with lid and a bag of these filter balls. I drilled some holes in the top, ran some PEX hose from the output of the pump through one of the holes to create circulation in the hot tub. I then unplugged the hot tub (which also meant it wouldn't heat), but 24 hours later the water was back to being as clear as if I'd just filled it. I figure that each weekend, when I use the hot tub and plug it included filter/heater, I would empty the bucket used for my filter and wash the filter balls. The process is still fairly new, but at least for the first time trying it, they have worked great.
