I think most of the cheaper carbide lathe tools use similar carbide inserts, so the main difference is the quality of the handles/shafts. The handles and shafts on these look and feel good. I've only used them once or twice, but they are solid, comfortable, and super sharp. I expect to use them in combination with my regular chisels, rather than totally switching to the carbide.

Exactly as advertised, a very useful set of carbides that are easy on the hands . If your turning and want to try carbides this is the set ,I have his and these and I use them interchangeably on projects. Definitely worth the price.

Easy to hold, sharp cutters. But the ferrules are barely attached. Three fell off the tools in the first few days of use. Poor assembly

Possiedo già utendili tradizionali per la tornitura del legno che uso la dove vivo. Essendomi spistato per le vacanze ho acquistato questi utensili con ounta intercambiabile de metallo duro, pe evitare di dover acquistare una nuova molatrice (ad acqua e Pietra giapoponese) che mi sarebbe coststa oltre i 500€. Ci sono cose che si possono fare meglio o più velocemente con gli sgorbie da taglio tradizionali (sgrossatura, incisioni profonde e taglio, ecc).

These carbides are a revellation! No need to hone them before you use them, they are well engineered and feel substantial in the hand.I cant fault them, lovelly turned beech wood handles, will last a lifetime.10/10

Well made chisels. Carbide inserts are extremely sharp. I use high speed steel normally that I sharpen for the past 40 years. These are just has sharp. Impressed me. Well priced and in a nice box. Buy the extra inserts when you order these will prevent down time. Don’t know it you can sharpen inserts.
