About Turbo Wastegate Actuator
A wastegate is a valve that diverts exhaust gases away from the turbine wheel in a turbocharged engine system. Diversion of exhaust gases regulates the turbine speed, which in turn regulates the rotating speed of the compressor.
The primary function of the wastegate is to regulate the maximum boost pressure in turbocharger systems, to protect the engine and the turbocharger. One advantage of installing a remote mount wastegate to a free-float (or non-WG) turbo includes allowance for a smaller A/R turbine housing, resulting in less lag time before the turbo begins to spool and create boost.

When boost exceeds the preset target, the wastegate will bleed off any additional boost. A malfunctioning or improperly assembled wastegate can cause a variety of boost issues.

Replace Your Bad Wastegate Actuator On Time
A bad or failing wastegate actuator can cause a number of different problems for your engine. Here are some common symptoms and warning signs that may hint towards having a worn out wastegate actuator:
- Check Engine Light comes on
- Vehicle's turbo does not produce boost during acceleration
- Oscillating turbo boost pressure
- Dramatic decrease in fuel economy

Houston, we have boost! This Chinese part fits and works better than I expected it to. Shipped directly to me from China. Installed it in less than an hour and now the turbo spools up and creates boost again. I highly recommend this over an $800 turbo that comes with one.

The end that clips to the wastegate is way to thick and the E clip will not go on. Also the hole for the wastegate is significantly bigger than original causing alot of play. If you dont have fab skills dont buy this. I had to cut of the original end and weld it to the new part in order for it to work.

It does seem to do the job it was meant to do, but it was not plug and play. The rod was too long and required being cut down and adding more threads so the end could be screwed on at a shorter length. The little hole on the bottom that hooks to the wastegate was too small. Thankfully the threads were the same as the old one so I was able to use the piece off the old wastegate actuator. Not a bad product, but needs some fabrication to make it work.

Factory one broke and this fit great. 2001 7.3 powerstroke. Just remember to re-adjust the rod length. This one was close to start. Minor adjustment

It was packaged poorly, no packing material in box so it was rolling around loose from China to wherever . there was no damage though and fit application.
