The other day, when I tried to start my 2003 Audi TT, the battery was dead. I didn't think much of it - I don't drive the car much and couldn't remember when I last replaced the battery. So I changed out the battery. Everything good. Except a few days later when I tried to start the car, the new battery was dead. Something was draining the battery when the car sat unused.After charging up the battery, I could see there was nearly 2A draining when the car was asleep. Ugh. Time to start pulling fuses. After pulling umpteen other fuses, pulling the fuse that protected the fan control module stopped the drain. I couldn't be 100% sure that was the root problem, so I was reluctant to pay $300+ for an OEM replacement (remember, my car is 21 years old). Short story long, this puppy at $26 seems to have fixed the problem. Certainly, there is now no drain, and the fan behaviors are as expected.Delivered free less than 24 hours from ordering, this is why Amazon is so great. Sure, perhaps this non-OEM part will not last another 21 years. But then, neither will my TT and, in all likelihood, neither will I.
