This meter is great - large face and the back LED light is perfect for day time use. Lights up the entire face. Easy to read and I don't have to worry about the battery status before and after using my tractor. Connections are bolted on with small nuts and lock washer therefore not to worry about vibrating loose while in use.

I usually don't write such brutal reviews. And I usually don't take stock in one or two negative reviews. But this item has many. I bought this item twice. The first time, the needle moved erratically, then failed, never to move again. The second time, it couldn't read the same voltage twice. Reading voltage fairly well is kind of important for a voltmeter. Even an 'indicator' style as this. Total fail. Also, the shipping and packaging each time was poor. The meters may be better at the factory in China, but after being bashed around, they probably read poorly. Moving scale meters are somewhat delicate. Some common sense here would help.

This thing is so cheap I was afraid it would be significantly worse than it is. But it works fine and looks decent so I have no complaints.

The first gauge I ordered would not read any voltage. I returned that one and received a replacement. The second one does read voltage. One thing to note, there are two screw terminals on the back where you connect positive and negative wires. The positive wire comes in very close contact with the mounting bracket which is touching the metal frame. The gap between the positive terminal and the grounded bracket is extremely small and appears to almost touch. If they would have engineered this so that the negative terminal was the one close to the mounting bracket, this would not be a concern. I'll have to figure out a method for preventing those two from touching so I don't get electrical arcs.

Looks and performs like OE. Very responsive and smooth(sufficiently damped). Accurate; independently verified by external voltmeter.(Backlighting a bit too bright) Overall great value and quality

At 12 volts the meter is fairly accurate. When started truck, voltage went to over 15 Volts when in fact the actual voltage was 14 (measured with multi tester). When went over big bump, the needle jumped from 15 to 16 (full scale). I flicked it with my finger and the needle jumped back to 15. Poor quality and innacurate.
