Installation
- The lock should be fitted to the door or gate once it has been hung and all necessary adjustments have been made. The lock body should be mounted inside (secure side) of the gate, with just the barrel showing outside - to prevent any tampering with the lock
- Work out the position the lock should be mounted and mark the center of the barrel position on the gate accordingly. The lock must be mounted with the cam holes in the bar facing downwards to avoid water ingress. The lock body should be no less 5mm from the edges of the gate and obviously the throw of the lock needs to reach across to secure the gate. Also Check on the other side of the gate to ensure the hole is in a suitable position.
- Next, drill a 26mm hole in the gate with the auger or flat drill bit. Make sure the hole is drilled level and straight for the best performance of the lock. Drill through until the central point of the drill bit protrudes out on the back and then finish the hole off from the back side to avoid splintering the timber.

Installed it onto my yard gate so that I can lock it from outside. Build quality is solid in my opinion, and the kesy work very smoothly w/o the issues mentioned from some of the reviews.

This gate lock looked OK when I opened the package. I examined all the parts and tried to operate the lock before I installed it. The lock comes with 5 keys. The keys seem to have some small burs on them. They were not smooth like the keys on my keychain. Anyway, the lock was difficult to work with all of the 5 keys. I lubricated the key way with a quality spray lock lubricant, but it made no difference. I took a wire brush and smooted the keys some, but that didn't help either. I won't be installing this.

I rate this gate lock as 4 stars because it’s a solid build, secures the door shut, and I like being freed from the whole pad lock routine and frustrations.

This gate/fence lock is very heavy duty. A good way to secure your fence from both sides, yes it is keyed on both sides. The locking bar is a 1x1" bar that extends 2 1/2" into the locking area, so very secure. The lock must be fully extended in either direction before you can remove the key. The lock itself is fairly long, so setting the l9ck up may take some thought so that the key rod doesn't stick out too far on the outside of the fence. This set came with all the screws needed for installation and came with 5 keys. These keys are rather unique, so be sure you don't lines them (I don't think you can get them duplicated).

A double-sided gate lock is just what I need for my driveway gate. This is a heavy-duty lock. It weights about 5 pounds. I know the installation is going to be a breeze because there are only two parts that have to be screwed in. I cannot wait to put this lock into use.
