Vertical Check Valve
Note: Check valves do not create a 100% seal against backflow like a ball valve would. If prevention of backflow is desired, two check valves should be used in series with each other. Any fluid which finds its way past the first check valve is unlikely to have enough pressure to pass through the 2nd.
For use with biodiesel, this check valve will require changing of the NBR seals to a more resistant seal

You will not be disappointed buying fittings here. I put this one way check valve just above the 2 HP submersible pump that we bought here at the same time and lowered it 278 feet in the well. It's been 2 years and haven't had a problem. Don't expect to. Plumber wanted to charge over $2k and me do all the prep for it, he didn't even know how to wire my pressure point switch. Did it wrong after I told him. He was fired and my son and I did it for a little over $500, not counting the winch I bought for my son's truck for helping me, still it was less $. This valve allowed us to perform a quality build, it was easy to install, it'll save on water and give my pump a longer life span by keeping the water from running back through it when power is off. I can't see it working but I know it is.

I bought this because from the review it seemed like a well made product. On inspection it also appeared well made. I was using this on a pool pump. However, I could never get it to stop leaking. I replaced both parts that screwed into the threads, I used different sealants, but could not stop the small leaks at both threads. This was only working at a pressure of 15 psi. I finally replaced it and upon disassembly of the parts attached and looking carefully at the check valve, it appeared that the threads had not been cut deep enough, which is why no sealant helped. I had tried teflon tape, teflon sealant used on high pressure fittings and even Tru-Blu by Rectorseal. Since I was past the return date, I felt as though I should warn others of the potential problem. Perhaps mine was the only one with a problem. It appears to be high quality, but I could never solve the problem of the leaks. Replaced it with a plastic checkvalve and the problem was solved.

I opened the check valve, there is no rubber seal of any kind, the machined surface was flat, the 316 Ss is actually 304 ss, some rust present after exposed to acid, non magnetic, the spring rate was too high requiring double the pressure to be compressed. For 20$ is what you get. It does not hold water it drip every 1.3 seconds one drop. I drilled two holes and tapped in flat area and added a SS washer with a 2†rubber seal and 2 screws for 6$ and seals perfectly now. If you don’t want to reinvent the wheel don’t buy this.

Bought two, and only one would seal. Had to tear alot of stuff apart to swap it out with one from the local supply house. This is an important part of any plumbing system. Do yourself a favor and get a better quality one.
