The dry wall was cut to accomodate 6†puck style led lights but I had purchased 4†lights. These medallions worked perfectly to cover the excess opening.

Easy to install. Looks good.I'd probably go with just pressure from the canopy, and maybe then caulk around the rim if you're happy with it, rather than adhesive on the bottom. Here's why:Be advised: The spec says they fit up to a 7.25 inch canopy, but that's only going to work if the canopy is held by screws that are further away from the canopy base than the medallion is tall (about 7/8 of an inch). My canopy has a 5.25 inch diameter and there's just no easy way to get the screws (which are themselves quite short) in.I'm going to try a third kind of ultra-low profile 90 degree screwdriver, but I would have gone for a wider or shallower medallion if I'd realized this. I also wouldn't have used adhesive. Wish me luck.

This was perfect for what we needed it for. We didn’t want to patch up a big hole from the prior light so this worked so great. Instead of glueing the module like it says to do on your wall, my husband did a little tricky with a piece of plywood so we didn’t have to glue onto the wall.
