We have an Ember 20FB RV with a front gearbox that uses these style latches. The originals are not lockable and with gear stored in the top compartment I wanted a keyed latch. These were a perfect fit replacement. Note, that with the gearbox, the top lid doesn't need to open to remove the front panel to gain access to the two propane tanks thus this isn't locking the propane tanks. Also, the locking latch won't stop anyone with a crowbar but it is a deterrent for opportunists. This was a very easy and inexpensive upgrade.

Make sure the locking arm is the proper depth/length that you need for your project. These have a very nice finish, solid and feel well made but I'm returning them and have just received replacement ones with longer locking arm to fit my coach door thickness. Both set are well made and look very good.Second set fit and work just like original equipment.

I’ve had these a couple years. They are solid.

The angle of the latch is completely different than what the pictures are presenting. I had to replace an old one, and I attached a picture that compares the two. Both are in locked position

Items are pretty heavy duty and the functioning of the closure is nice and solid. Good "click". I'm not really that impressed with the key however - I don't think that it would be that hard to pick...it only has one indent that is rounded so it doesn't appear to be a very serious lock. Should work well for my truck canopy however - if someone really wants to steal my smelly work boots, well... enjoy.
