It may be an off brand, but it’s made of the same materials as name brand filters, and for all I know it might even be manufactured in the same building. Now, I prefer to bulk process my filtered water (not suck it through the filter straw one swallow at a time), so I normally set up my water filter as part of a gravity filtering system and filter several liters at once. At first glance, it can appear that this filter, with its crescent-shaped mouthpiece, can’t be connected in the middle of a stretch of standard ¼†ID tubing as part of a gravity filtering system. However, if you grab a section of 3/8†ID vinyl tubing from your local hardware store, that larger size of tubing will fit perfectly over the larger mouthpiece and allow you to both use the filter in a gravity system, and it will also allow you to use a large syringe to periodically backflush the filter with clean water to help extend its lifespan. A little ingenuity goes a long way. I’m happy with this filter.

If you hike, camp, or trek through unfamiliar wilderness water is essential. Carrying a large supply with you is not usually an option. Never drink from any river, stream, or pond UNLESS you have this type of device. Most of us know them as life straws. This brand is designed the same way as most other brands on the market today. They can convert and filter a sketchy water source into safe drinking water of up to 3000 liters. Unscrew the bottom cap to attach and fill most standard plastic bottles. Insert the included plastic straw into the top to make drinking directly through the device easier. Don't venture out without a few of these in your pack even if you don't think you'll need them since they don't take much room.

These are easy to carry around and use. It is simple and straight forward on how to use.This is not designed for extremely dirty water, like swamp, highly contaminated or anything extreme. You can use it with stream water or water along those lines.It does filter well and the water is clean once it is ran through the filter.They are small and compact and easy to carry around. They are great to carry in your car, bag or wherever you want.

These are nice little filter straws for any outdoor activity or emergency use. They are lightweight. As for performance, I didn't try drinking swamp water to see if I got sick, but based on the construction and documentation, it should perform fine.

I'm a big believer in having clean water when SHTF so having filters like this is essential. What I really like is how compact they are and how much water they'll provide you esp. when you're not at home (and I guess even when you are home and something happens with the water supply). I'm not going to waste one of these using them for a review but do know they perform well from past instances and I have no doubt these will perform just as well.
