I put this filter with bags I also purchased for my Rigid shop vacuum and together they have been very good at collecting the sawdust from recent woodworking I have begun to do. The filter was easy to install as well. I don't know the effectiveness of the filter without the bag I installed as well, but together they are really effective.

I used it with a set of microfiber filter covers. (4 pack, orange) The covers did the majority of the work. But the green hepa filters provided additional assurance of maximum particle collection. (I was vacuuming rodent waste and cement dust from a crawlspace.) I used a 50 foot hose extension under the house with the vacuum outside the crawlspace. I used an additional 15 foot hose on the vent side to carry any potential dust well away from the crawlspace entrance. I definitely recommend using filter covers as the filters would fill up pretty fast with messy cement powder. In the end I hosed the filter off and let it dry for reuse.

If you’re into a good value, these filters will do the job. However, buyer beware that there is a significant quality difference between this and the genuine Blueair branded filter… the inner dark layer on this dupe is just foam compared to the real one. I mean, sure it will still do something with medium/large particulates and dust but I doubt it delivers genuine HEPA quality filtering.
