Needed for my snails. Noticed my mystery snails shell was starting to not look good. One reviewer said don't go by recommended dose or over do it so I just put one in my 10 gallon tank. Seems to be fine and love the size.

I love this brand! I have bought this a few times so I’m sure I may have reviewed it before but oh well. I prefer this over cuttlebone bought in store due to no residue getting all over my aquarium substrate. I have mystery snails with no cracks or shell issues because of these.

I bought these to help with my mystery snail's calcium problem (She's picky and hardly eats anything).But with these her shell is becoming smooth again and she's laying eggs like she used to.

Adds hardness, but the packaging is weird, the claims on the package are unfounded, and it’s overpriced. I’m using Equilibrium instead now. Way better use of money.6

Was struggling with easy to keep, beginner, low light plants dying back hard. Good light & plant tabs didn't help. Only plants and snails in the tanks. A site about snails explained how helpful these shells are for snails health - that was my main purpose in buying them - I wasn't even thinking about their benefit for the plants. I have been happy to see my struggling plants are showing more green since adding these. Various parts of the tank sporadically throw off random oxygen bubbles in the first days of adding the shells. Snails are zooming around. Plants greening up. Water went clear in less than 24 hours (had been very slightly clouded). If you're interested in the science behind these, look up a man named Carl who runs Everything Aquatic online - he has tons of scientific data on these going back decades. After reading that, I will switch to buying from them from now on to support their good efforts at educating us on the proper use of these shells (Check his information on wrong ways to use them to save yourself trouble by the way. You could add too many too fast for some certain creatures for example.)PS: Great for tiny bowls too - I have many globe shaped bowls that hold about a cup of water each - tiny plants, sand, stones, tiny bladder snails, and I broke the smallest shells into a few piece for those "tanks"- just fantastic. Between the snails and these shells, the tiny tanks are much more visually appealing.)

I put One of these small ones in my 55 gallon tank. It healed the crack on my mystery snail's shell and it helped the pH.
