1. Will this work on a 20 liter plastic drum?
Answer: The size of the plastic bucket is not important, what is important is drilling the hole in the bucket. If using a grommet, drill a 3/8'' hole. If using a #6 bung, drill a 1''-1.28'' hole.
2. How do I keep the stopper from slipping out of the jug/carboy?
A: Yes: The stopper will slip out when pressure builds up in the glass bottle and there is water in the mouth of the bottle. Wipe off any water from the mouth of the carafe before use.
Essential for home brewing
For those of you who are not familiar with airlocks, this is a device you need to brew beer, wine, mead, etc. You simply fill the bottle with 1/2 or 1/3 of a cup of water. You simply fill it with 1/2 or 1/3 water, close the lid, and insert it into the fermentation vessel. The airlock allows the gases from fermentation to escape while insulating it from air and impurities.
