Small one can wear on pinky finger, larger one fits good, but it needs to be little longer on inside of finger and solid no holes!

I almost didn't order these because I had a bad experience with a similar product (the needle pierced the thimble and went into my finger). I am so glad I did order these! The colored part is silicone and fits snugly on your finger. The white part is plastic and keeps the needle from piercing through to your finger. So these work great, fit snugly, and are comfortable to wear. However, only one fits my finger. The blue colored one will only go on my pinkie and is useless for me. This one is good only for a teen's fingertip. The purple one fits my middle finger perfectly and this is the finger on which most people wear a thimble, though some like to use it on their ring finger. If you're not yet a quilter, here's the reason. You use your thumb and forefinger to hold the need and guide it into the fabric, then use your middle or ring finger of that same hand to push the needle through the layers of fabric. When you're hand quilting and get near to a corner, there are 4 to 8 layers of fabric to push through, not an easy thing. That's where the thimble saves your finger from a bloody mess. The demo pics are all wrong and only show people using their forefinger to push the needle through. If you did that, you'd have to take the thimble off to take your next stitch - not efficient. Also, I never wear a thimble on the hand that is underneath the quilt because I need to feel the tip hit my finger gently so I know I've gone through all the layers of fabric and the stitch will hold. I never draw blood doing this, but do develop a callous on the tip of that finger, which is a good thing - perfect for hand quilting. One other thing. The ad mentioned how you can wear these softly and comfortably even if your nails are long. I don't have long nails but I don't see how you can have long nails and use these. There are thimbles out there with the top part open so you can put the thimble on snugly and have your nail out the top. These don't have that opening. Hope this helps you decide. Happy quilting, and seriously, even if only one of these fits your finger, you will love your new thimble.

This set of thimbles includes two sizes, only one of which fits my finger. I pretty much only use thimbles while hand quilting, which I'm fairly new at and still interested in finding new items to help. So far this is the third type of thimble to try and it's not my favorite. The thimble doesn't work well with my nails and they aren't even very long at the moment. Also, the needle doesn't seem to catch in the holes well at the angle I tend to hold my finger. So I don't think this thimble will get much use.
