The most important thing about the thimble is buying the right size. I need a size seven for a ring for the ring finger of my right hand. The thimble on that finger fits but slips off if I wiggle that finger gently. But is is doable. I think the small would have been too small.The middle finger on my right hand needs a size nine ring. When I first put the medium size thimble on that finger, it felt tight. I pushed it on. But when I started sewing, it stayed on nicely. I think the large would have been too large for this finger.The other thing I worried about was the rubber catching on the fabric or the thread and pulling the thread out of the needle. So far this has not been a problem. Hope this helps.

These are the best thimbles ever! They are comfortable and they stay put! I lost my last one and had to use an old leather one and it's just not the same.Good protection for any kind of hand sewing!

I use these for hand quilting and they work well for me.But pf you are expecting them to be medium you will be disappointed.

These are not really soft and flexible. I recommend buying a size larger than what you think you might need.
