This item appears to be well made. The shackle end is substantial . The pin is a screw-in pin with a hole for the placement of a wire lashing to prevent the dislodgement of the pin. It should have a reasonable service life.

We used these for a light duty project. Seems like they would handle harder use, but that wasn't tested. Nice Quality.

These are good quality blocks and we have ordered these a few times for our sailboat projects. Although these are swivel blocks, you can set them to be single blocks without a swivel.

This is a 3/8 halyard. 3/8=9.53mm. This top of the pulley would be rubbing on the rope. Not ideal for my application. Over all looks like it would be good for 5/16.
