I like it because it's smaller around, doesn't take up a lot of room. I have ducks & chickens that sit & sit on fake eggs. I already have 3 males & don't want any more. So I get 1 day old female ducklings or chicks. I remove the fake eggs & stick the babies under the mamas in the nesting box. I like to put a small waterer & feeder in with them so babies can drink & eat. This works great!!! The ducklings love it & it gives mamas & babies a chance to bond before they leave the nesting box!

These were great for my quail as they hold the good amount of water, and the narrow tray allows them to drink water, but they can’t sit on it or poop in it or get as much wood chips in it. The bigger ones that are used for baby chickens Tend to be too big for the smaller birds and they constantly fill up with wood chips and then the water doesn’t work.

My quail chicks drink a lot and this is perfect. Not so deep that they won't drown and a decent size tank so you don't have to constantly refil

Used for young quail. Had to refill 2x a day for 18 quail. Much better than the smaller one I had before. A little pricey for plastic in my opinion.

This waterer has worked great for my newly hatched and growing quail. Easy to clean and refill. Will likely order another soon.

The water seems to be of good quail it’s so far. I had to take it out of my brooder as one of my very young quails drowned.

Easy to clean, easy to fill. Does not leak. Birds (chicks) have had no issues using. The well for water is sized such that I have had no drowned birds. Very nice design and manufactured well.I do select spacers used under waterer to reduce litter from contaminating water. As chicks get larger I move waterer up from floor of brooder. Will purchase additional units.

I don't know why this is so hard to find, even in the nearest places to me that are still farming towns.I needed this for the quail I decided to raise and there's really not much else you can do to both keep them out of the water when they're really young and also to keep them from destroying their water within an hour when they get older. The price for this SMALL waterer is insane. Of course it works as it should and is as functional as you need it to be, but this is just highway robbery. Quail also go through a LOT of water, whether by drinking it or wasting it, so if you have more than 4-5, then you need more than just this on small thing which makes the cost even more irritating.
