This trimmer works great. It has a huge reach, and saved me several hundred dollars in tree trimming costs for those high branches. It does get heavy and tough to handle at longer lengths, but what do you expect? If you've got the core strength and are decent at balancing long poles, you can trim some pretty high branches without too much trouble. Both the trimmer and saw were sharp and did the job. I cut branches up to around 3 inches diameter.

Pruner is well made, except for the lock mechanism on the handle when you are lopping off branches. The lock mechanism just does not work and is poorly designed. So I lashed the cord around the handle like you are tying up a boat.Comes with a nice canvas storage bag. The tab you use for pulling the zipper is way too small. Hard to grip. I wonder who the people are that designed this, no practical sense. The pruner comes with two large saw blades, one with a handle that you can grab for pruning branches within your reach, a small saw blade, and a lopper fixture that is a must for pruning small branches. You pull on a long cord to cut the branch. The sections are screwed together. Threads are tight and I used 3 in 1 oil to lubricate the threads. There is a problem with threading the lopper fixture on to the pole. You cannot thread the lopper all the way into the female end of the pole for some reason. The threads are ok as far as I can see??? Go figure. You better have some strength to work with a pole length 20ft or greater. Try and get as vertical as possible before you start cutting. Then step back to cut the branch. Remember you have a long lever arm after the branch is cut. The branch and pole are going to come crashing down so stand away from the fall line. I am 82 and just let the pole fall on its own. Do not hurt yourself trying to keep the pole from falling.Works great pruning some relatively small oak branches 1/2 to 1in away from my blue spruce trees. Getting a lopper attachment was a must for me. No problem with too much flex in the poles when all the extensions are used.

Our HOA said "cut your trees so the branches don't touch your house or else..." So I went searching on Amazon for something to get the job done.I found this tool and others like it with more reviews. I was hesitant, but decided to buy it because it sounded long enough- longer than all the others. It also said it included a scissor attachment and saw attachment. The other options didn't offer both attachments either. I ended up using both and was impressed with how easy and fun it was to use.Complaints: I ended up needing to use up to 2 extentions + the handle piece + the end (either saw or scissors). [4 total pieces] The cord from the scissors wasn't quite long enough so I was forced to use the saw on a few smaller branches high up. This is where I ran into (2) it tried to unscrew itself a little when sawing extended with 1+ middle inserts. It wasn't too bad, just a little annoying. I had to retighten a few times. (3) I was not wearing adequate gloves [I was wearing rubber gardening gloves] so I developed blisters on all 8 fingers + 1 thumb from using the scissor cord and needed to put on bandaids after about 20 minutes. I believe this was user error on my part.Pros: (1) I was able to change the length of the saw as needed to get our tree into compliance. (2) Using the saw attachment on its own to breakdown the cut branches worked extremely well - the saw cuts great! (3) I was able to start early in the morning without waking my neighbors since it's completely maual - no noise pollution. (4) It only took me, a 130 lbs female with no experience trimming a tree, 6 hours to trim, break down the branches into manageable size, & remove the branches from my front yard.I have no idea what kind of tree this is. All I know is this tool helped me fix our front yard problem, and I'm so glad I bought it!Pictures are before, during, after, and the tool itself just unboxed [Note the gloves. Do not use these gloves with this tool!]
