The wrong part was shipped to me, but in the end it turned out to be fine. The one I got was a single center conductor bayonet socket with one (positive) lead wire. Ground/neutral is courtesy of the metal frame. The part I ordered would be nearly identical, but with two conductors for the bulb. Given all the above, this part is more than adequate for my needs.

I was going to install these in a Bronco 2 tail light. Looks like the perfect solution to my need for an extra bulb, as I am going to use the vehicle as a tow vehicle behind an RV. But, here's the problem. The bulb required (3157) is almost exactly the same diameter as the 'ears' on the socket. So, in order to get the bulb into the enclosed tail light assembly, you have to drill a hole that is so big, the ears on the socket don't extend far enough to allow for mounting. If the ears were a 1/4 of an inch wider they would have worked.I'm always surprised when the designers don't think things through completely. All that being said, if you can separate the lense from the back of the light assembly, so you can install the socket with a smaller hole, and attach the light bulb from the front, these sockets should work perfectly for you.

Cheap parts, both of them broke within an hour. Wont hold the bulbs correctly. Proper fit but 1157 bulbs didnt work due to fit and not staying in place.
