The wheel nuts have held well for about 50 miles now. I have removed and re-installed them twice without a problem. I use tensioners for my rear wheel so I don't need to apply high torque to these aluminum nuts. The surface is hard and hasn't lost its luster after using a few different wrenches on them. The recessed washer is a nice touch, I used a dab of grease in the recess to allow the nut to slip while the washer grabs the dropout clamp surface.
