If you are looking for a simple high voltage unit, this one will work beautifully - much better than the Acxico 1.2KV board. Powerful arc with a 5V input. Best one of 3 different boards I tried so far.

I tested Both units and they worked great! I the input voltage was between 4.2 and 4.4. I will buy again, thanks!

This is a simple and compact boost module that can operate on a range of input voltages - I've tried 2x alkaline and 3x NiMH. Both produced an extremely rapid charge (as indicated by the ready-light), and a very strong spark. I'm in the process of building a small spot welder for light foil - we'll see if these provide enough juice on their own, or if I need to wire in a supplementary capacitor. In any case, these couldn't be simpler to use, and I couldn't detect any noise or coil whine from them (unlike my old photo flash units).For the price, these are a great way to get a high-voltage kick for small projects and experiments.
