About Hermit Crabs:
1. Hermit crabs often eat shells and molluscs, and take other their shells as their own. This is the origin of the hermit crab's name.
2.Hermit crabs mainly use snail shells as their parasites, and their appearance is between shrimp and crabs, and most of them live in snail shells.
3.Generally the hermit crabs body is asymmetrical from left to right, and the abdomen is soft, which can be curled in the snail shell.
4.Usually Hermit crabs crawl on the seashore or in shallow water, if in danger, retract into the shell and plug the screw mouth with chelated feet.
5.Since hermit crabs are omnivorous animals, they can eat everything from algae, food residues to parasites. For family fish lovers, putting one or two hermit crabs in the aquarium will act as a cleaner.

The shells arrived but they are green, tan and brown. Disappointed as I like the blue shades depicted in the product images. They are the same size. The shells seem a little too big and heavy for my Hermie to carry around. He has been in a shark eye shell which is much lighter and seems to be what hermit crabs prefer. The shells have a ridge line towards the front which I am assuming are growth lines. I included pictures to show the opening measurements. I find it hard to find the perfect shell as most are either too small or too big as Hermie grows. These are natural shells not polished and had no odor. In a worst case I guess I can have them in the tank as decor.

I bought these for my hermit crabs. The description fit them perfectly, and the size was just as it was stated the crabs really like them, and I like having them around so they have extra shells to choose from.

I really really like these shells! My hermit crabs have already moved in to these shells and they seem to really like them. They both ditched their wider and or flimsier shells and have taken these on. Make sure you measure the openings of the shells your crabs are in before purchasing though. Mine fit into these perfectly and moved out of their smaller shells. Also the green is really cute and they are natural so you don't have to worry about them ingesting artificial paint!

These shells are WAY too heavy! There's no way my hermit crab will be able to lug these things around. They are beautiful to look at but useless as a home for my crab. Way way too heavy!

They came broken and chipped. Crabs can’t even use them. Look elsewhere
