this is the only float that works with that chinese stainless dog bowl, i mounted it in the kitchen and am extremely distrustful, so theres an inline ball valve mounted just before it for when we leave for any length of time. been a month so far with a reverse osmosis water supply, there is just enough adjustment to make it slow fill and hard close. hoping it doesn't wear out in a year...

I used these to make a water bowl for my dogs. But they work as expected and seem like they should hold up for a long time.

The float has a small hole where the mold support broke off. The float filled with water and caused a pool overflow and we were not home to catch it. Quality control! Fortunately the original purchase included two units so I replaced the float and it is operating again. Also, the unit lets water through even when the valve is completely closed so if you have a demand pump filling the pool with harvested rainwater as I do, the pump cycles continuously which most demand pumps are not designed to do. Even if you are using city water the valve will leak continuously but you might not notice it if the leakage is less than what is needed to keep your pool full.

An Added Layer of Security in RODI SystemsIntegrating these Brass Float Valves into my RODI system for my saltwater tank has been a smart move. While I only run the Reverse Osmosis filter when I'm home and awake, these valves serve as an excellent backup for my other shutoffs. It's always better to be safe than sorry, especially in a setup as delicate as a saltwater tank.Seamless Integration with a Simple AdapterThe installation process was straightforward, thanks to an adapter I picked up from a local store. This ease of setup, coupled with the valves' compatibility with my system, highlights their versatility and user-friendliness. It's a relief knowing that these valves are there to step in if I ever forget to shut off the system.Reliability and Peace of MindWhat I appreciate most about these Brass Float Valves is their reliability. They've proven to work perfectly, maintaining the water level without any hiccups. This reliability isn't just convenient; it's crucial for the health of my saltwater ecosystem. In summary, the Brass Float Valves are a modest yet vital addition to any RODI system, especially for aquarium enthusiasts. Their simplicity, effectiveness, and reliability make them a worthwhile investment for anyone seeking an extra layer of security in their aquatic system maintenance.

I bought this to replace the plastic version thinking it would be more reliable and less likely to break. I've attempted for weeks to get it calibrated which can't be done. It will work for part of a day as expected but the next morning it's either overflowing or stopped putting out water. DO NOT USE as a reliable water source for your animals. I bought 3 of these and all 3 are a headache. After a couple of weeks trying to get them to work reliably I decided to throw in the towel and ordered the plastics version has worked for me in the past but do break down as the plastic wears out. Perfect example of when more expensive doesn't mean better.

I haven't installed one of these yet, but I have lots of extra plastic waterer floats for repair jobs, because those are always going to pot. These appear to be much more durable at the fail point of the plastic ones, and the mounting is adjustable by way of two nuts with O-rings on them. Plastic threaded tubes on the originals always break down and leak, because you can't tighten them up as the gaskets age, leading to breakage. These look like the cure for that problem.
