I've been looking for some good rivnuts to use for some of my creations. These create a dedicated metal bolt hole in wood so that you remove and reattach as often as you want without damaging the wood. I do a lot of things in car audio and Jeep customization, so the more fabrication tools I have, the better.When I saw these were available I decided to add them to my arsenal.Problem is, I can't get these to work. I take the mandrel and screw it into my rivet gun. I put the rivnut on and, as I pull the handle I can see the nut starting to deform and then a loud pop and it resumes its normal shape. I've tried this with both mandrels and same result. Something is happening, but I'm not sure what or why.It's possible this is user error, I'm not as familiar with rivet guns as other tools, but I can't see what I'm doing wrong. Could it be the wrong rivet gun?I gave this three stars as I'm not sure where the problem lies.
