I was looking for something to zoom smoothly on my Sony 70-400 f4-5.6 GII. While it fit the barrel (which I was worried about) it turns out I was worried about the wrong thing:the zoom action (by nature of the quality of the build of the lens) is quite stiff, and it takes a lot of force with the handle to get the zoom to move, which in turn; causes the camera shake, thus defeating a smooth zoom in the video.These might work with an easier zoom action on a looser lens. Back to the drawing board for me.

It's just not a very well constructed or quality built product. I ordered this particular item because I thought the metal handle would be better than one of the plastic ones.The rubber grip stretches so easily and the handle flexes so much it's impossible to be consistent with the zoom/focus.

I bought these to help with focus and zoom when using my DSLR and although not perfect they do the job reasonably well. They were wide enough to fit round a Nikon 24-70mm f2.8 which is a fairly big lens with plenty to spare. They tightened up well and don't appear to slip. Only gripe is that when you pull on the lever it does bend slightly before anything happens. Given that it's attached to plastic I guess that can only be expected. Perhaps a design improvement would involve stiffening the base of the lever to it's more rigid. It functions perfectly well though, especially for focus pulls. Zooms are a little tricker but that's more due to the nature of the set up. Fast zooms are easy but slower ones really require a motorised set up.
