I've had them out in the weather for about 6 months and still no rust so that's good. The screws are typical junk/pot metal and strip if you look at them funny. The edges are sharp and not well finished, but overall, they do the job fine and don't rust. Great if you're looking for a good weather resistant solution to something that isn't used that often. If it is used often, look for something with better finishing, or prepare to smooth the sharp edges down somehow yourself.

All the dimensions may match competitors but the metal thickness leaves a lot to be desired. Metal thickness is .065". The loop that the padlock hooks into is .210. These are basically nothing more that child proofing something. I can use snips to cut the metal between the loop and the hinge. That would be easier than using bolt cutters to cut the lock. When a design is only as strong as it's weakest link, these pieces are definitely the most weak part of any lockable hasp/latch I have ever seen, size for size. Being basically a 4" hasp/latch, these are not something I will ever buy again to secure my tools with.

I have a fair bit of experience using different metals and different grades of stainless. Just judging by look and feel this seems to be a lower quality stainless, but ordering it off Amazon and for this price you'd probably already expect that. Either way it should hold up fine for my purposes. but wouldn't be terribly surprised if it eventually shows some orange rust. Also one of the eyelets is a little bit misshapen but that shouldn't affect its function and still seems reasonably sturdy.

I put this on my shed to replace an old rusty one. It looks great, easy to install and my shed is secure! I would definitely recommend this
