Viola was actually my instrument in school for 7 grades but those days are long gone. Still, these are such nice straps I could spot other uses right away, for handling some gear bags I have that don't come with straps or have uncomfortable/clumsy straps; plus things I make myself and including straps is the finishing touch.The stitching is secure, the webbing is a generous width and has a tight weave. The pads look and feel great compared to many other ones I experience. All of the metal fittings have a bright polished surface finish. The spring force of the clips was surprisingly high so sometimes they spun out of my fingers when trying to push them open. I would sooner have that characteristic than have weak clips that might snag on something and open up on their own.The gap of the open clips is 5mm. One of my photos shows examples of hardware that fit. The white plastic general purpose 'thing' just made it with some effort. The more appropriate metal rings were easy.
