This desktop shelf is absolute junk, thin metal shelves on a thin wire frame with no positive locking parts. The shelves are made of thin sheet metal that has been bent into shape, the pops of color are cheap pleather. Absolutely not worth the cost.

This is a nice little shelf, and it fits just right on the monitor shelf of my desk. It definitely adds more room for organization holding some of my office supplies. I have my pens, white out tape, sticky notes, a mouse, and a bunch of random items on it. I also keep my water thermos on the top shelf, and it holds it great, with no moving or wobbling. There are four anti-slip pads at the bottom that work very well. Keep in mind the size of the shelf, it is small, hence the name desk shelf, however it holds a lot and is very sturdy.

The photos in the product description make the frame of this shelf unit look more substantial. The frame is 5/32" in diameter, and the sheet metal in the shelves is 1/32" thin. Both are painted black with what looks like an enamel paint. The paint surface has occasional lumps and a pit or two, suggesting improper painting prep or execution. There are no fasteners, the shelves are flanged to sit on the rails with nothing to hold them down except gravity. Plastic-rubber feet are provided for the side bottom rails. They are a large fit and freely slide along the rails, a minor inconvenience to continually reset. There's an odd quirk. The hinges on the back swing over 180 degrees, so if you try to assemble it backwards, the shelves don't fit. One product review mentions this problem. It's a simple binary choice, but a bit annoying. I'm restricting this unit to indoor light use. The product page has a Q&A that suggests it could be a laptop stand. My 15" laptop is too wide to fit on either of the shelves, and, even if it did fit, the keyboard would extend more than four inches over the front of the shelf. Even if it fit, I would not entrust my laptop to this spindly structure.If this item was significantly cheaper than competitive products on Amazon, it might pass, but there are many items with sturdy tubular frames and wood shelves for less, so the product loses one star for poor quality and another for poor value for money.

After struggling with the assembly of many products, it is a joy to open a box where you basically put the pieces together, no need for screws and tools and more hands than you have available. This is a very small shelf, so that must be noted, check the measurements to make sure it fits your needs. I'm likely to use it inside of a cupboard to organize storage, but not likely to use it out on display. It is made out of white metal, the tan color comes from the soft pads that are provided to line the shelves. This could work for spices, vitamins, anything where there are multiple fairly small items to organize and it is a benefit to be able to see the labels simultaneously on a lot of jars.

Even if this shelf did work properly, at $29.99 for a small desk shelf I would expect something with a little nicer finishes. This shelf is made of a wire frame - three pieces of wired grid attached to hinges, and two metal tray shelves that are supposed to slip over the wire on the sides.However, I didn't even get a functional shelf. The bars of the frame were attached so unevenly to the hinges that the frame was too wide to fit the shelves at all. I could get shelf to fit nicely on one side of the frame, but there was about a centimeter gap on the other side and no way to even force it on. Disappointing.

Easy to assemble - took less than two minutes. Make sure you fold the hinges in the correct way or the shelves won’t fit. There were no directions in the box but it was pretty self explanatory. I do wish there were hooks included. I’d like to hang mine on a wall. This will also be great on a desk.
