They are very well built, I have many different sizes of shackles from over the years in construction. These are as good as any of them,Would definitely buy again.

Purpose for Product: Connection of 1/2" tow chain.Product Inspection: Three 1/2" D ring anchor shackles. Shackles are galvanized, pins might be but have a bright red orange coating of paint. Shackle opening is 7/8". Shackles and pins are extremely magnetic. Shackles shape is uniform and even. The shackle holes are not exactly aligned, probably occurred during drilling them. There are tiny metal shards(sharp) still present. One side of the pin hole is 1/4" and the other is 3/16". The pins thread tight with the pin stop acting like a washer resulting in a secure connection. The pin heads are widened allowing good finger contact for installation and mechanical tightening. The smooth shackle hole is just a tiny bit too large allowing a sloppy fit until it is tightening.Product Performance: Shackle fit a 1/2" tow chain adequately.Summary: Could not find any defect that would indicate these shackles would not perform as expected under stress ratings. Attention to detail in the hole drilling is disappointing as well as leaving the sharp metal shards. Pricing is comparable to similar products.

These are smaller than expected but work well with 1/4" chain and smaller loads. Can't really say much else about them except they work exactly as described. If one fails prematurely, I'll be sure to update this review.

the 5/16" is the shackle size NOT the shackle pin size. These are so tiny. I eventually will use these in my work shop but they are way to small to use like they show in the images. Your not hooking these up to any vehicle to use for towing. Not a chance

I ordered the 3 piece set of 1/2†D ring shackles. I wanted a set like these for use with my ‘63 Cub Cadet 100. I have a set of ag tires and I use it in a very muddy environment to move around my utility trailers. These fit my tractor perfectly. These have been extremely useful when I need to hook my Jeep to the tractor to get it out of a jam. For my use they are more than adequate strength wise. The quality of the shackles is okay but I’ve seen better. All things considered I would recommend these.

Solid, no burrs, good finish and clean threads, so it’s easy to use. I like the bar color, hopefully will keep me from losing it

I ordered these D-ring shackles to assist when using chains and/or tow straps to pull vehicles from deep snow this winter. They arrived free of defects and are equal in quality to the shackles I can purchase at my local farm supply store – but come with a nicer galvanized finish and at a lower price.

Summary: I use these in situations where I need a more secure connection than a carabiner, rather than the convenience of quick release. Living in paradise (Hawaii) where everything rusts, I prefer stainless steel, as opposed to mild steel (painted/coated), or galvanized (better, but not as rust resistant as stainless).Observations: You can verify the 304SS material by using a very strong magnet (SS is slightly magnetic); check operation of the shackle screws upon receipt.Recommendation: While these are galvanized, if subjected to a high humidity or seawater environment, they can still corrode. Keep them clean (washed with fresh water), after direct salt water exposure. For load rating, typically two times is the minimum, and critical applications could be five times (or more).Pros: Fair fit and finish; cost about average for this size shackle.Cons: This company offers 64 products, with only a couple shackle offerings. Conclusion: At $19 for 3 pieces ($6.33/each), rating this 3-stars (-non-specialty).
