There are hundreds of circuit breakers out there and most have undersized connectors for their rating, but not this one. The BULVACK 100A circuit breaker has very beefy lugs compatible with up to 0 AWG wire. It's running great on a 12V/1200W inverter in my cargo trailer and it hasn't tripped, but I also haven't overloaded it. It works great as an on/off switch as well. I am only a little confused by the description, which says both "self recovery" and "manual reset." So, which is it - self recovery or manual? I'll give a try some time and let you all know. Take note that this circuit breaker is designed to take a direct connection from the wire, so don't expect to bolt on a cable with lugs.

This is a heavy duty circuit breaker for automotive, boat, or RV applications. This is a great way to add larger power drawing accessories and still keep your electrical system protected. I have used large fuses in car audio systems but I have always wanted to use a circuit breaker for the simple fact that they are re-settable without having to buy a new fuse. They can also be manually tripped to isolate a circuit. This one seems well made and looks and feels high quality. The lugs can accept large wire but may need a sleeve for something like 8 AWG wire. Always figure up your maximum amp draw for your accessories and then get an appropriately sized circuit breaker.

This is for the 100A self recovery breaker. This breaker can be used in a lot of applications- RVs, marine, cars, solar, or any other project needing a high current breaker in the 12-48v DC range. This particular breaker will accept 1/0 - 8awg wire. The description also says it's waterproof, It seems like the beaker itself may be, but the connections aren't even close. While I'm testing it a bit on my bench I'm not sure if this is a temperature sensing breaker or not. It seems like it, and the description hints at it. But when resetting it there's a feel in the mechanism that is may be a regular breaker. The description also says it's "self recovery", which I take to mean it will reset itself, but it doesn't do that. If I don't move the blue bar up to the reset position, nothing happens, and it's not going to do it on its own. This seems to act as a regular breaker, but it has different features. If I want to click it off, just punch the red button. I can't pull the blue lever down to turn it off (like in the 2nd pic). It just won't move. Tripping the blue bar requires either a current overload, or pushing on the red button. Only the after one of these two operations will I be able to reset the blue bar back up to the position seen in pic #1.I like this unit, as it isn't as bulky as most other breakers. It's more 'inline' with the cable, and can be put in a small space and still be easily accessible.

My husband has been a 12 volt automotive tech for over 20 years. This was used as an in-line circuit breaker for a subwoofer install in a 2023 Bronco. This is not a fuse that can be replaced. It is a circuit breaker so if an overload is sensed, the breaker trips, similar to a circuit breaker in a residential electrical panel. It’s easy to reset and eliminates the need to replace a blown fuse!

This is a nicely finished breaker with a straight forward mechanism. It appears that it would easily take 0 AWG wire but for wire smaller than 8 AWG you might need a sleave. The hardware is solid and the switching is obvious. Mine didn't come with directions but the last picture shows where to squeeze to release the plastic covers that shield the connections. I like it!

If you have a car, truck, boat - anything that uses electricity from 12-48 volts DC - this device will protect your property and your electrical device! If something goes wrong with an electrical item on your "property", and it causes a short or a power surge, this Circuit Breaker can save your day. It can trigger and completely turn off the power supply to that device and possibly prevent an electrical fire. It is very important with devices that draw a lot of power, that you have such a safety device in-line.This 30amp Circuit Breaker by Bulvack is a nice design, easy to install and simple to use.On either end, there is a clear plastic cap that allows you to view the cable connection and at the same time, helps to keep that connection clean and protected. The set-screw that holds the cable into the Circuit Breaker needs and uses an Allen key - and one is supplied. Nice! The body of the Circuit Breaker is made of plastic, the kind that is hard and solid. There are two mounting screws holes on two small "wings" that you can use with either screws or bolts. This is left up for you to decide, as is placement of the unit. The breaker is a simple operation. There are two buttons on the top of the Circuit Breaker - a Blue short lever and a Red button. Pushing the Red button will immediately cut off the power as the Blue lever moves to an angled position. To reset the breaker, you move the Blue lever back to its "on" position, which is straight in line with the body of the breaker. At the same time, the Red button will jump up to its rest position.Because that Blue switch moves from its rest (or "on") position, to an angled one if the breaker trips, it is easy to see if that has happened. After checking for the problem and correcting the issue, the circuit power is restored by a simple flick of that Blue lever.Bottom Line - If you have any additional circuits that have been installed on your "ride" - whatever that may be - you need to have that circuit protected by a circuit breaker. Based on current pricing, unit construction and ease of use, this Circuit Breaker is a definite winner!

The terminals of this circuit breaker have strong plastic covers that fit snugly into place to prevent unexpected shorts and flyaway wires. The terminals are well made in metal with strong attachment screws that hold the heavy duty wires in place with no chance of separation if they are installed properly. The circuit breaker itself triggers quickly in a short and it indicates the "blown" position very clearly using the blue arm. It is easy to reset, and easy to trigger manually with the red button. The plastic housing is thick and strong with ample support for the screws that will hold it securely onto the wall or bulkhead. This is great protection for the electrical systems in boats, RVs and other situations where you need reliable electrical disconnection.

When I tested this I used a deep cycle battery as my power source so I could test its tripping. I installed the cables direct from the battery to the terminals, with the breaker in the off position, then turned it on to test if it trips. It does trip fine, but the first time it gave off a bit of smoke from inside, it smelled a little like burnt grease or plastic or something. Further tests did not emit smoke, so maybe there was a bit of contamination on the terminals that got burnt off.Once tripped, it may need to sit for a little to cool off before resetting, it won't allow resetting while it is still hot (typical with a bi-metal breaker). The terminals themselves are well made and able to accommodate large diameter wire, which is good when dealing with circuits that may see up to 100 Amps. The plastic covers over the terminals are OK, but may not last very long - probably best if this is installed once and then left, regular removal of the covers would probably lead to breaking the tabs that hold them in place as they don't seem overly sturdy, but should be fine if just installed and then left alone. My main concern is the smoke puff - not certain what caused that and if it is going to lead to more problems down the road, hence 4 stars. The cheapness of the plastic cover solidifies the choice to dock a star. No smoke and slightly sturdier/more reliable covers and I would consider a 5 star rating.

I love this circuit breaker. I got the 300a one for my car because I relocated the battery to the truck and just wanted that extra protection with a circuit breaker. The 300a is perfect for the starter as its drawing less than that. I shorted out my main line intentionally to test the breaker and it worked so I'm very happy about that. I absolutely love that the breaker has a easy kill switch in the event of needing to shut off the power asap. Overall I really like.
