Your cart is empty.3" x 48" blank newel post. Ascension Stair Parts wood products come in a variety of species and profiles. The natural variations in grain and color will require tolerance for look and finish. Sanding to a finish will be required on most products unless stated otherwise before paint or varnish can be applied. Our blanks and notched posts are made of three layers of 1 inch thick pieces pressed together. This adds strength and protects against warping you might get using a single piece of wood.

I am a General Contractor and work with high end clients and materials. I read a lot of reviews about this product and was concerned about pieces of varying colors, which to me, makes for a very bad product. I could not be happier with the high end quality of this newel. I am using it my own home office for a single leg accent. I am beyond fussy when it comes to my work. I could not be more impressed with this product and especially at the price point. I would have sent it back in a heartbeat, but it will be part of my overall design of my office for many years to come

The posts arrived quicker than expected. They look great and were good quality. 3 x 1 bys were glued together and looked great.

The finish on these posts was perfect. They were packaged so well and delivered before promised. The size was what I needed. I used them for support under the newly installed quartz countertop in the Kitchen island.

I bought a used post at a duscount, and it very much liked used... involved some patching and sanding, but it looks great and was what i was looking for. My new stairway looks amazing

I bought 4 - they dent and chip super easily and the pre-drilled holes aren’t centered. Also the “primed†ones are painted with a high gloss product that doesn’t look like it will take paint well without doing some significant sanding first. Going to try to return them.

Well I read this as 300 pieces! Not it part # 300🤣. Needless to say, I needed 400 pieces! The headline is a not the best.

We order 3 of these posts. One to end a loft railing, one to start at handrail on the stairs, and one to do both. The have worked out perfectly so far. We finished them in the same natural finish as we were finishing all the pine wood and they came out a little darker but very close. This slightly darker finish was expected as the posts are red oak, but it was not as great of a contrast as I had feared. It was a good alternative to pine posts at a better price.
