I originally bought this set of speakers for my pc mini box. I was so impressed with the sound difference from other speakers I have tried over the last year, that I suggested to my 95 year old mother that she let me bring them when I visited next time to see if they were loud enough for her.She agreed. I carried them up country for my visit with her, set them up on her pc and she loved them. Finally she can hear the sounds on her pc very well. Had I stopped at this point, I would have given the speakers a 5* rating; however, Mother asked if they would work on her tvs too. If so, she would buy two more sets, one for each Tv and also keep the set I brought her for the PC.Try as we might, I was never successful in setting them up to actually work on either the vizio or the LG tvs. I researched, did trouble shooting, but nada. At 95 I would jump the moon to do for her and make things easier for her so was disappointed I could not manage this one simple request on either tv. I got no response on one tv, the speakers managed to cut off all sound coming from the tv speakers on the second tv, but would not output sound to these speakers. I was going RCA to RCA. Granted it could be the RCA cable since it was the only other common denominator besides the speakers themselves, but did not have time to order more cables just to test something before I had to leave. She's happy with the speakers on the pc, but could be happier ;-)Update: Within a day or so of my review, the company contacted me and offered assistance in resolving the issue. I never expected them to do that and am very appreciative of their concern. Have upgraded my review from 3 star to 5 star simply for the stellar followup of a review.

I thought I ordered this with RCA plug to record player but it came with bare wires. This speaker is unusable.

My daughter bought set of these speakers for herself a couple of months ago. She mentioned how great the sound was on her pc and offered to let me try them since I am pretty hard of hearing. She set them up and put the volume at half way on the speakers so I can control the sound better from my computer. It's great, so great that I kept her set of speakers and ordered her a replacement.Update Feb 2025 - downgraded from 5 stars to 2..However, there's a THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP. Over time, the daughter has tried relocating the speakers, changing wire types, adjusting volume and other adjustments, but still it thumps ALL THE time. The thumping has always been there since she set them up and for a near deaf woman, I only heard it after the 30 day return period expired. She says it's always been there. Wish we knew what would stop it because otherwise the speakers are great for a very hard of hearing person.

You need to separately buy another type of wire for a record player but that’s overall it, the rest of the speakers parts work great.

I love the simplicity and functionality of these speakers. Great controls and the volume can crank if you want it to. We wanted a wired speaker set up for my son’s room and sleep music. He loves the upgrade!
