I've been using these to split apart a retaining wall of poured concrete that is about two feet thick. A jackhammer did nothing to break the wall apart, but I've been using an SDS drill with a 1/2 inch carbide tip to drill starting holes, and then inserted the 3/4 inch wedge and feathers to split the rock. After hitting in the wedge to start expanding (splitting) the rock, you should pause for 30-60 seconds and let the wedge force put tension on the rock, then knock it in some more with a couple more hits, then pause again. I believe waiting helps weaken the concrete and helps it split easier. I have about 3 inches space between wedges, and I use a chisel to start a line between each hole, thinking that this weakens the strength of the concrete and helps it split along the line between wedges. Also make sure you face the wedges parallel to the way you want the rock to split.
