This is for aiding in changing brakes. It really makes it easy to use. It's worth the price. Using it is easy. Great quality, very sturdy.

Smaller than I expected. Seems sturdy, untested, but I think you need to do this first...the larger center bolt side will completely unscrew from the tool, remove it.Then fully unscrew the other until it stops. then use your favorite grease, I used water proof axle grease on the threads. They were shipped without any grease or any notable lubrication.I will update when i actually get to use this. The size is much smaller than I expected, but size doesn't always matter.**Update**Finally had a chance to use this. Its a two hand tool unlike my "caulk gun like" one that I have now. You have to hold the two plates in place while you also hold the caliper and then start to ratchet it. What I do like about this, is the additional power I get over the "caulk gun like" one that I use, sometimes grip strength is limited at the end of a long day. I recommend this!!

The old "balance the caliper on the knuckle" trick usually yields with a caliper bungee-jumping and stressing out that old rubber brake hose. These hook-on quick to both ends. Five hangers is essentially a lifetime supply lol. The neat ratcheting press tool is much easier than fumbling with the old HFT c-clamp.

Well, I found a tool I wish i had years ago. No more wedging the caliper or bungee the caliper out of the way. No more c clamps to depress the brake piston. This tool covers all of that! Its made fairly well, and the ratchet action on it is decent. Sure with pressure it works even better for ratcheting. I love how you just put it in the place of pads and ratchet the piston back to gain clearance. The hooks for hanging the caliper are awesome! Coated and big enough to hang well out of your way. Its a great tool for the diy brake person. One of those tools you say..... I wish I had this years ago!

This brake caliper tool pushes the piston back with ease. A good value.

It seems as if I end up having to help all my friends do their brakes, and with the gaggle of cars I have- I'm doing brakes often. There are a lot of different styles of tools for compressing caliper pistons, and be aware that some pistons must be rotated- and this tool cannot do those. For most, though, one must compress the pistons slowly and steady and this tool does that beautifully. I did the Brembo fronts on my AMG as soon as this tool arrived today, and since I replaced the rotors this tool made compressing the 4-piston calipers super easy. If you are replacing the brake pads without swinging the calipers up off the rotors, this style of tool will not work. Removing one bolt from one end of the caliper and rotating it up can often be super easy and then allow access for compressing the pistons. The included hooks for holding the calipers are much appreciated, as you never want to hang your calipers by the hoses- yet I see people constantly doing it. The hooks come in handy between brake jobs for hanging things around the garage, too.The quality of the tool is certainly decent- it's not a complex design and no need for complexity in this application. Simply slip in, ratchet the mechanism open while watching for leaks or tears on the piston seals, then remove it. I'm more than satisfied (3 rating) with this, as it's twenty bucks AND comes with the handy hooks to help hold the calipers while working on them. I'm not ecstatic enough to email everyone I know about this tool, so it falls short of a rare 5-star review which I reserve for truly awesome scores. So, we end at 4 stars. MORE than satisfied! A better than normal deal for this level of quality. If you do brakes, even once, this tool is awesome- and even if you only use this tool once to save yourself the enormous labor rates at shops, it's SO worth it. Mercedes wanted $1600 to do my brakes, and with this tool I did them for $460 using the same parts.

This is an inexpensive tool that will change you from C clamp to never going back. It’s just easier to use. The hangers are something I really like so you can put up the calipers. The quality seems ok for a diy. I think if I were to change brakes all the time, I’d want this tool but maybe a bit more rugged. I’m slightly concerned that it’s not going to hold up for 100s of breaks. I do think it will hold up for changing a few vechicle here or there. The grub seems strong and the design is good but the connections rivets seem to be a poor choice in the design.

This 360 degree brake caliper press tool is a classic design that's used in many commercial brake shops. It features a ratcheting lever to spread the brakes and comes with 5 caliper hooks to hold the calipers back while you work. This lever design is easier to use than many other designs, and is often preferred by professionals. The tool has a universal fit design, so it's good for a wide variety of sizes and styles of brakes. The plates have a rust resistant coating, so if the tool is kept clean and stored correctly, it should last for years and years. A well-made tool and a nice design. A must-have for any nechanic's toolbox. A++
