Cedar pergola construction. Matched the black 4x6 t plates used on 4x6 cedar beams.

Excellent 3/8" lag bolts. Very sturdy and ceramic coated for outdoor use. I used these to rebuild the bunks of a large boat trailer and they worked well. Bonus is they came with coated washers which was great since my original galvanized bolts are metric and a bit shorter - the addition of the washers shorted the depth to almost the same as original bolts. Great value and appear to be very sturdy. Very quick shipping.I would highly recommend these bolts.

Used these longer ones for a new mailbox border (our old border finally rotted out after almost 15 years...), it's holding the wooden sectional pieces together very well. I probably could have gotten away with using regular screws for this job, but I did our old border with lag screws and it held up very well for well over a decade, so why fix something that ain't broke? I used this same company's shorter lag screw for a new (and better) handle & latch on the wooden fence that leads to our back yard -- that handle & latch is rock solid on there and I'm confident it's not going anywhere. I did both of these projects weeks ago, and both sized lag screws still look amazing after both rain and sun (mostly sun though...we could really use some more rain down here) on them throughout.

I purchased this without any project in mind, but they have come in very handy for repair and installation work around my property. I recently used this to install some solar streetlights that are quite heavy in addition to some repair work on my decking. Many low quality lag bolt/screws will strip easily which is always a tell-tale of low quality items, but these stand up to tightening with a ratchet wrench quite well. These are certainly heavy duty and the ceramic coating should keep them rust free for a long time.

As a project-happy homeowner, you can never have enough nuts, bolts, and screws, and these good-quality 3/8” lag screws will be very useful for my many outdoor projects. The 50-pack of screws and washers is pretty heavy, as you would expect from the large quantity of metal. They come with a black ceramic Ruspert coating with which I’m not familiar, being an old-school, hot-dipped galvanized type person myself. The product description claims that this four-layer coating is weatherproof and will provide two times the rust resistance of galvanized screws. Only time and exposure to the elements will prove or disprove that claim.I did test one bolt by drilling ten quarter inch holes in a dense piece of old growth 2 x 4 that was probably cut in the 1950s. Using a Dewalt impact driver and socket, I drove the lag screw into and out of the ten holes. The above pictures show a brand-new screw (1), the head after being screwed into the board once (2), and the head and shaft after being screwed into the wood 10 times (3 and 4). As you can see, a bit of the coating came off of the head after only one screwing, and even more came off the head and wore off of the shaft after being screwed into and out of the wood 10 times. While I find that a little worrisome, it will be pretty rare for any of these screws to be screwed into a board more than once or twice, so my test is a little unrealistic. I suspect that they will be plenty fine for outdoor use, even in pressure-treated wood. I was pleased that the screw showed no sign of breaking even after suffering such abuse. For the price, these should do the job!

They worked out OK - just not strong enough or at least as I anticipated... I snapped two of these lag bolts being hand driven into Rail Road Ties.
