Tips

I have a Weldcraft SL-17 tig torch. Last week I couldn't get the electrode to lock in position. Somehow the internal threads got fouled. Bought the 3/8-32 UNEF tap and die set. Ran tap in, problem solved!! Up and running. Tap and die now live with my TIG kit.

The diameter was just slightly too big to fit any of my die holders and I have 4 of them at various sizes. Should give diameter. Tap was fine

Working well, but I’m using brass, so that isn’t really a challenge. Fits the tape handle well, I always appreciate parallelism there.

I repaired my tig torch collet threads with the tap and die. The threads had gotten galled and I was looking at possibly buying a new torch assembly.
