The 38900 Ford Spark Plug Repair Kit has the tools needed to repair many 1996 and up SOHC 2-Valve 4.6, 5.4 and 6.8 Liter Ford engines. We identify all the components that make up this triton spark plug repair kit.

The repair is done right over the fender without the need to remove the cylinder head saving much time and expense.

The retaining clip (snap iron pieces) is included to eliminate the possibility of the screw tap from falling into the cylinder if you tap too far! The roll pin in the twist drill/screw tap is the only stop needed for it.

38900 Spark Plug Repair Kit has 8 solid bushing type inserts. The insert's lip design prevents them from going too far and falling into the cylinder.

It's recommended to use a video inspection camera to verify all metal shavings are out of the cylinder before installing the spark plug.

My 5.4 liter Triton engine is notorious for blowing out spark plugs. The last time this happened, the block threads stripped. The shop wanted more than 1200 to repair this.I bought this tool kit and it worked very well! Great value and easy to use. Be sure you have a good aor compressor and air ratchet.My truck is now repaired and running great!

Brought this because the Calvan kit is too expensive. This has all the same parts and is a great replica. Used to repair 03 f150 5.4 spark plug that shot out of the cylinder. Threads turned out perfect and insert went in easily.

I have a 2000 Ford Excursion with the 6.8L V10 which also had the notorious spark plug issue. I haven't had any problems yet but plan on replacing all the spark plug seats during my next spark plug change. I hadn't done it previously because the Calvan repair kits were just too expensive. This set is currently less than half of the Calvan set and the quality is just as good. The instructions are pretty decent but I suggest going on youtube and watching a couple different installations just to get a good handle on how it is done and also to pick up a few tips that aren't in the instructions. I do need to buy two additional inserts since this only has 8 and I need 10.

I'm actually really impressed with this kit. Way more than expected. The pieces are well made and a perfect fit. Everything you need is included, and it's all sturdy in the hand. There is also a dummy proof mechanism that keeps you from causing damage to the threads by being too exuberant.
