I live in an old drafty house so having a fireplace cover during winter is great. I have central air that keeps the house fine and we live in the city, so wood burning is limited, and so we have no actual use for our fireplace. Having this to cover the fireplace keeps the warm air in.It's easy to set up and only takes a minute. I imagine this will pay for itself several times over for anyone who needs it as you really lose a lot of heat out of a fireplace if it's not in use.

I needed a 36 wide. Description says 36 but in reality only 35 maybe 35 1/2. Had to supplement with tape and see if I can get welcome and hope it works. Next size up is 39. That's way too big. They need to trek you not accurate to size. Never ordering againAlso magnetic are sewn in and too far from the edge to catch the metal

This item is a large, insulated mat the size of a fireplace opening with four magnets evenly spaced along each length. It attaches right over my mid-1990s fireplace frame. It doesn't create any sort of airtight seal, but I do believe it will reduce cold drafts in the winter and air conditioning loss in the summer. Initial impressions are good. Weather is not cold enough yet to speak its functionality, but it is simple to put up and the right size for my space.
