3-in-1 Animal Clinical Refractometer for Urine Specific Gravity
- This refractometer is designed for dogs and cats but can still be used to measure other small & large animals, like sheep or horse, etc.

Measuring range:
- total serum or plasma protein(SP): 2-14g/dl,
- urine specific gravity of dogs（or large animals）: 1.000~1.060RI
- urine specific gravity of cats（or small animals）: 1.000~1.060RI
Triple scales:
- the left one is for testing urine specific gravity of large animals like dog
- the middle one is for testing urine specific gravity of small animals like cat
- the right one is for testing serum or plasma protein level for all animals
Normal urine specific gravity range:
- Cats; 1.001-1.080 S.G.
- Dogs: 1.001-1.065 S.G.

Notice:
- Accurate measurement based on good calibration, please calibrate the refractometer before your first use. But you don’t have to calibrate it frequently, once every a few months is OK.
- When you put your sample to be tested on the daylight plate, make sure the liquid spreads across the entire surface of the prism without air bubbles or dry spots.
- Clean the instrument with a soft cloth after each use, keep the refractometer dry and clean, which will keep the instrument accurate and durable. Do not put the entire instrument into water to wash, this may lead the refractometer to be foggy or rusty inside.
- Please do not loose any connection part, and don’t dropping, colliding, shaking the instrument intensely.

It was a little difficult to use but very important tool for when I was monitoring my dog’s kidney function. I’m glad I had it when needed. But it’s important to know that this isn’t the only factor to watch out for.

We need to check the calibration every day. It was off a couple days in a row so we check it every day now. To have the same test done at our vets was $40 so this was so much more cost effective since we check her USG every morning. Very simple to calibrate and use. The product arrived a couple days sooner than promised.

The unit is well made and easy to use. The instructions are easy to understand.I compared my reading of the same sample I took to my vet and the readings were very close.Unfortunately the focuser needs to be adjusted to one end to make it short enough to fit back into the case which makes it necessary to refocus each time you take it out. Not hard to do but if the case was a bit longer you could leave the focus where you need it when put back into the case.I find the scale easy to read by a window or lamp for adequate light.Very happy with this purchase.
