The Tiaoyeer Antifreeze refractometer is a portable multiuse tool for automotive owners,you can use it for testing the freezing point for the antifreeze fluid based on ethylene glycol or propylene glycol, you can use it for testing specific gravity of battery acid and provide a quick reference of battery charge condition, you can use it for testing urea concentration in automobile diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), you can also use it for testing windshield washer fluid based on ethanol or isopropyl alcohol. 4 Fuctions in one light and small instrument, with this refractometer, you can know the level of your regular automotive fluid quick and easy, help you protect your automotive engine.
Warning-Maintenance:
1.Calibration liquids can use clean water. This product does not require frequent calibration. The temperature of the liquid to be measured should be close to the temperature of the prism to measure the data is accurate.
2 .The instrument is resistant to abrasion and corrosion resistance.Can be measured acidic and alkaline and other general corrosive liquid. But we do not recommend measuring these liquids for a long time. The residue should be cleaned immediately after measurement.
3 This is an optical instrument. Do not need regular maintenance. But you have to be careful, the vast majority of damage is due to fall, which will cause the instrument difficult to repair.

This refractometer is light weight and reasonably easy to use, I was unsure how good it could be based on the price, boy was I surprised. I compared it against a good hydrometer to check anti freeze and liked it better. I would add that it is a fragile instrument so should handle with care and keep it in the case when not in use. I am going to make a good solid case to keep it in as the plastic case that comes with it is very cheap made.

Nothing to dislike. works as advertised! Easy to use, sturdy design, compact in size and light in weight, convenient to keep up and carry around. Very accurate, useful tool to check the strength of the glycol on my chiller.Thank u!

I bought this to measure the propylene glycol (low toxicity) antifreeze I use in a 30’s Chevy pickup. It’s extremely well-made, the instructions are clear, it’s easy to use and is reliably accurate. Comes in a nice protective case. I’d previously tried the floating ball type checkers but they don’t work reliably with propylene glycol.

Very pleased. Checked calibration with water and was at 32 F so would have been ok to use right from factory. Like that it has a scale for both ethylene and propylene glycol as I have a number or different coolants to check. Easy to use. Comes with everything you need stored in a nice little case.

It's really odd but the case for the unit won't close... it showed up like that. It's not super expensive... but it would be nice to close the case and protect the meter.

Product appears to be well made. You do need a bright light source to read. I used a LED shop light and that worked well. Instructions are clear and well written. Comes in a nice storage box.
