These purple silicon carbide discs absolutely eat mill scale. I used it today fit the first time but it removed rusty mill scale nearly instantly and showed no signs of loading up. Any other disc, sander or abrasive would have been glossing over the surface by the time I finished what I did today.I'm teaching myself to weld, these were a great find. I'll still use vinegar for longer prep times, but these are a great alternative that gives instant results.For stripping steel to a clean surface I definitely recommend these.

All I can say is WOW!!! These things are awesome. As you can see I used them to take mill scale off of 5â€x5â€x8’ steel. One disc got four of them 8 footers done plus a couple of small things. Them cheap ones won’t even take the mill scale off. So from now on these are the only ones I’m buying

This is the best thing I've found to remove mill scale for tig welding! Twice as fast as a flap disc but it is a bit pricey

Works Great on Mill Scale, but doesn't last long. This wore out very quickly. That being said, it takes off heavy mill scale very quickly while leaving a smooth surface. Much smoother and quicker than using a 36 grit sanding disk. But it didn't last very long. I love using it, but for the high price, I'm not sure I'll be buying more, except for when I need the nice smooth surface.

Purchased both the green and purple discs to remove paint and rust on a trailer repaint project. The green discs work very well for primarily paint removal not “coarse†enough for rust. The purple discs worked very well at both paint and rust removal. Lighter rust came off very easily, the heavy, deep pitted rust took more effort but removed enough to make other rust removal effective. With some effort too, mill scale on sheet metal came off. The pads last for a pretty long time even while taking off heavy rust. Very impressed with the 3MCubitron abrasives, I plan to try the belts next on my 2†x 48†belt sander.

Removes mill scale from hot rolled mild steel better than anything else I've ever used. Also, the removed material doesn't seem to build up in the media like it does with sandpaper and the like.

It’s actually a really nice product to use for removing milk scale, but based on how quickly it wears out, it really should be in the $5-7 range to be competitive with competing options. I think this will be an occasional specialty use disc in our shop, but it’s simply too price prohibitive to be a daily disc.

Funciona a la perfección para quitar óxido y pintura asà como algo de salpicaduras por soldadura, da brillo y pule el metal, eso sÃ, no se debe ocupar en las orillas con filó porque se desgasta muy rápido, de ahà en fuera es muy buen producto, lo compraré más adelante de nuevo!!

Ho acquistato qst disco dopo che mi sn informato tramite video vari e dopo averlo usato effettivamente è un buon prodotto, fa il suo lavoro, elimina la ruggine senza mangiare il materiale.Costicchia un pò e per ripulire una fioriera da tutta la ruggine ho fatto fuori un disco (pensavo mi durasse un po fi più) mah è venuto veramente bene, ora ne dv fare altre 4😄, sicuramente lo ricomprerò

The only pads I’ve tried that thoroughly clean metal without marring the surface like flapper disks do. And they don’t seem to clog up as much as other brands. Pricey but worth it.

Nunca pensé que este tipo de discos removiera tan fácil el óxido en metales me sorprendió al utilizarlo, estoy muy satisfecho y si problemas se le adapta a cualquier amoladora de 4" Pulgadas volveré a comprar otras 2 pza.
